Loughborough Student's selected for Beijing Games Friday 29th February It has been announced by the British Olympic Association that Liam Tancock and David Davies have been officially nominated as team members for the Beijing 2008 Olympic games. Thursday 28th February The new alumni website is now live (you're reading it). We have moved across most people's registrations from the old site and will shortly be adding the 100s of classnotes and photos posted over the last few years. Olympic medallist Steve Backley attends official opening of £15 million Sports Technology Institute

Loughborough University officially launched its new £15 million Sports Technology Institute today. The Institute is an exciting new venture with East Midlands Development Agency (emda) to boost enterprise in the sport and leisure sector and develop cutting-edge technology to assist the country’s elite athletes in their preparation for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Real Varsity Rugby Match 2008Monday 19th February The Fourth Annual Real Varsity Rugby Match will take place on 30 April 2008 between the 1st XV of Loughborough University and Team Bath. Gates open from 4.30 for this action packed event and admission is by ticket only. Further information on this event is available on the events page.
Spring telephone campaign starts
Monday 12th February Student callers return back tonight to start the Spring telephone campaign. Over the next 4 weeks they will ring approximately 4,000 alumni to update them with news of developments at Loughborough University and canvass for support in areas such as career mentors, financial support and work placements.
