03 August 2009

Loughborough's Liam Tancock has secured Great Britain's 2nd gold medal at the swimming world championships being held in Rome, breaking his own world record in the process with a new best time of 24.04.

His success follows hot on the heels of those of Jo Jackson, also of Loughborough, who has landed two silver medals, in the 400m and 800m freestyle.

Our congratulations go to Liam and Jo on another fantastic performance by Loughborough athletes at a major championship.
